The Tornado Pollution Control Work Tables from Media Blast® are simple, well-designed down draft airflow station used for the collection of grinding, sanding, deburring and more using a central dust collector or wet scrubber for the collection of the dust. These Mediablaster®s do not include an internal dust collector but do include the collection hopper and hopper attachment outlet for connection to the customer supplied central dust collector. Applications requiring permits for the dust collection of explosive dust may require modification to the central dust collector including outside location and or wet collection of the dust. The Tornado Work Table uses smart airflow design to create the capture velocity using downdraft airflow. This is critical to the capture of any dust laden air.
The units are offered in stand-up and sit-down models, with and without enclosed tops. Efficient internal LED lighting is supplied all operating on 120-volt power source is included. Choose the operator type (stand up or sit down), select the tabletop size needed, select the top type, (open or enclosed top), and connect to an existing central dust collector. The Tornado Work Station can be used with permitted central dust collection or wet dust collection to collect many types of explosive dusts.

Consult all OSHA and local rules and regulations for the collection and classification of the type of dust being created and collected. Never mix metals and never use to collect any type of explosive dust i.e. aluminum, titanium and magnesium. The dust size and quantity present airborne are used to determine the risk of explosion.
Class II (Explosive Dusts) Hazardous substances Class II locations are those that are hazardous because of the presence of combustible dust. Note that the dust must be present in sufficient quantities for a fire or explosion hazard to exist. The fact that there is some combustible dust present does not mean a Class II hazardous location exists. To be considered a “dust”, the combustible material must exist as a finely divided solid of 420 microns (0.420 mm) or less. Such a dust will pass through a No. 40 sieve. Just as in Class I, Division 1 and 2, the subdivision of Class II into Divisions 1 and 2 identifies the likelihood that there will be an explosion hazard.
