The Power Strip Direct Pressure blast cabinet is manufactured from 100% welded 12- and 14-gauge CRS (cold roll steel). It comes with a pneumatic conveyor and external pressure pot assembly ideal for fine and ultra-fine abrasives. It will also operate with larger sizes, 60 mesh and smaller. Larger abrasives, 150 mesh and larger, would use our Power Peen™ Mediablaster® with internal abrasive storage to greatly reduce maintenance when using larger abrasives.
The Power Strip Direct Pressure mediablaster machine is designed to outperform competing cabinets when it comes to controlling and recycling fine and ultra-fine abrasive blasting media (180 to 325 mesh) as well as most standard abrasive sizes using its High-Efficiency Cyclone Separator Reclaimer. Fine abrasive can cause visibility problems, mixing valve feed problems and high abrasive usage rates. The Power Strip high efficiency cyclone separator, standard, is capable of separating even 5-micron abrasive sizes. Media Blast also offers the less efficient “Barrel” cyclone you will see used on all Hailstorm machine model for larger mesh sizes. Cost of abrasive operation, recycle rates, are lowered when using a high efficiency cyclone!
The high-efficiency cyclone is the most efficient dry mechanical separator reclaimer used. And Media Blast has the most effective cyclone design on the market today with its continually expanding cyclone chamber layout. Using the pneumatic conveyor and cyclone separator reclaimer allows removal of all the abrasive from inside the cabinet. The pneumatic conveyor helps dry and aerated the abrasive and create cabinet downdraft airflow for the best cabinet visibility. When you have an efficient separator reclaimer and negative pressure cartridge dust collector filtration you have the most advanced machine design available today. Understand that most production sand blasting cabinets using the Industrial size gun will move almost 1 million pounds of abrasive out one nozzle in one-year single shift. The standard nozzle size for the Power Peen is 3/16″ ID using 31 cfm at 60 psi. Smaller and larger nozzle sizes are available for applications with smaller and larger air compressors. Air compressors vary greatly, check the cfm output on the compressor being used or visit Air Basics for more information on compressor selection. Pro Tip: Never buy a compressor using the displacement cfm number, always use the second cfm volume number listed with 90-100 psi inside the tank, because tank pressure reduces performance.
