Description:
The Power Peen is a simple to operate Direct Pressure machine designed for Production applications. (We consider production operation to be 1 or more hours of daily usage of the blast machine).
We have incorporated a 1.0 cubic foot Pressure Pot into the Power Peen that we attach to the bottom of the blast cabinet hopper. The Pressure Pot is used to pneumatically push the abrasive media through the blast hose. This is why a pressure machine produces faster abrasive velocities than the typical Siphon Blast machine which doesn’t utilize a pressure pot.
This machine is designed for operation with any abrasive size, 120 mesh and larger. Operation with heavier blasting media, through hole part blasting, high abrasive Frictional Heat and blind-hole cleaning, are all advantages when using the Power Peen direct pressure blasting cabinet.
To maintain the proper hopper slope required to feed the pot on the Power Peen machine, we supply a raised operator’s platform with all Power Peen models.
The dust collector on this machine is negative pressure with an easy to clean dust storage hopper. Negative pressure operation of the dust collector ensures longer duty cycles, a cleaner work area and longer blower service life. We use a replaceable cartridge style filter that has either 220 or 440 square feet of filter surface area. This setup eliminates the need for costly factory service on the dust collector, which results in savings of both time and money. The dust collector also comes with a pneumatic vibrating cleaning assembly for effortless cleaning. The dust collector’s capacity to store dust, along with the ease of service, makes this machine the right choice for production operations.
In addition, larger dust collectors are available for even the harshest production requirements.
The Power Peen Direct Pressure Blast Cabinet is available with a standard 40 degree window slope for smaller/lower height parts or the expanded top with reduced window slope for taller parts. Please check the Standard Model listings for top availability.

Power Peen models is 1/4” I.D. using 41 cfm @ 40
psi. and 56 cfm at 60 psi. A smaller 3/16 nozzle can
be used to reduce the requirement to 23 and 31 respectively
but, smaller than 3/16”nozzles are not recommended on
any Power Peen Production Models. (See Micro PrecisionBlast
models), these machines are designed to operate properly
with smaller compressed air requirements. Compressors
vary greatly, check specification on your compressor for HP
and or CFM output, 10 HP minimum is advised. A general
rule for piston air compressors would be 4 cfm for
each motor horse power, for more information on compressor
selection see Air Basics. Most direct pressure machines exceed maximum abrasive impact velocity at 40-60 psi, this includes glass beads, plastics, soda, garnet and silicon carbide. Steel Shot, grit and aluminum oxide will operate at higher pressures. |
