The Hurricane wet vapor blasting cabinet is a simple-to-use, proven technology now gaining popularity in today’s marketplace. Many applications today require a wet blasting cabinet that uses ultra-fine abrasives and eliminates frictional heat for delicate composites. Our cabinet is considered industrial sandblasting equipment since it can operate in excess of one hour per day using a production gun size consuming 25 to 90 cfm of compressed air per minute.
The Hurricane™ Wet Slurry Blaster MediaBlaster® uses a seal-less externally mounted slurry pump to agitate the abrasive and water into a slurry mixture. This design produces the highest percentage of abrasive to water so it outperforms sandblasting cabinet designs using air agitation or paddle wheel pump abrasive suspension. The slurry mixture is pumped directly to the abrasive blast gun where compressed air pressure accelerates the mixture to the desired blasting pressure.
The Hurricane Exhaust Blower and low-velocity scrubber/filter maintain a negative cabinet pressure. This improves cabinet visibility and prevents the mist from escaping during the blasting application. During operation, the freshwater timed window rinse assembly provides continuous operator visibility through the operator view window. The Advanced LED cabinet light is located outside the cabinet and light enters the cabinet through a sealed water-tight lighting fixture.
Media Blast® offers the Hurricane wet blasting cabinet in five standard cabinet sizes. Each size has two different window slope options: 40 and 17 degrees. All Hurricane models are constructed using 12- and 14-gauge 304 stainless steel.

Media Blast also offers the HydroSlurry™ model in stainless steel cabinet construction for applications that do not require an Industrial capacity wet blasting cabinet. The HydroSlurry™ model operates on 120-volt electrical power, less than 20 cubic feet of compressed air. It’s also a great cost-effective wet blasting model for lower daily machine operation.

The Hurricane was designed to operate using facility compressed air. Many small piston type air compressors will operate the Hurricane when a smaller gun is utilized; check out our smaller HydroSlurry model. Air compressors vary greatly, check the cfm output on the compressor being used or visit Air Basics for more information on compressor selection. Pro Tip: Never buy a compressor using the displacement cfm number; always use the second cfm volume number listed with 90-100 psi inside the tank, because tank pressure reduces compressor performance.
150-1500 mesh and finer
150 to 5000 mesh standard, optional larger slurry pump is available for applications requiring larger abrasive and or larger cabinet size.
Glass Beads, Aluminum Oxide, Silicon Carbide, Garnet and others (specific gravity sensitive). It is possible to use abrasives larger than 150 mesh, ask for details about special pump performance.
